Get Ready to Pitch
FAQ:
Q: What if I don’t want to pitch? Can I still come?
A: Of course! Even if you aren’t ready to pitch your own project, you will learn so much just from hearing Jake and Vanessa’s feedback.
Q: Who will get to pitch?
A: We’ll be selecting writers at random to pitch their scripts, and we’ll get to as many pitches as we can. If you want a chance to pitch and get feedback from Vanessa and Jake, all you have to do is virtually raise your hand when prompted.
Q: How long should my pitch be?
A: No longer than 3 minutes please.
Q: Do I need to attend both sessions to participate?
A: You can attend either or both sessions to be eligible to pitch. However, if you can make both sessions, we recommend that you do! This is a huge opportunity, and your pitch will be stronger from coming to the training session.
Q: Is this really free?
A: Yes! Both sessions are completely complimentary. No hidden costs, just opportunities to grow as a writer and learn from top industry professionals.
Q: What if I’ve never pitched before?
A: Perfect! Listen to our latest Write Your Screenplay Podcast episode designed to help you develop your pitch, no matter your level of experience.
Q: Can I pitch more than one project to Vanessa?
A: Nope. Please limit your pitch to your strongest project, so we can allow as many people as possible to participate.
Q: Do I have to pitch television?
A: Nope. Vanessa is happy to listen and provide feedback for pitches in any genre.
Q: Can I still pitch if the script isn’t perfect?
A: Vanessa and Jake are here to help you and are happy to hear pitches at any stage of development.
Q: Will I get feedback?
A: That’s the best part! Not only will you get a chance to have your idea heard by one of the top producers in Hollywood, you’ll also get helpful feedback from Vanessa and Jake to make both your pitch and your project even stronger.
