A brand new, one-of-a-kind class taught by an indie TV Writer, where you can develop your web series with a close-knit, collaborative group of fellow writers - all conducted online!

A New Kind of Class

The Web Series Workshop is one of the few classes available which operates like a Writer’s Room and focuses on developing a web series so that you can fund AND film it.

Classes will allow you to focus on developing your characters, planning story ideas, and mapping out the structure of your series. During class you will get to workshop your pilot while also helping others flesh out their own.

What You’ll Learn

Web Series are a new and fastly growing form of filmmaking. In this course, you’ll learn about how a typical web series is developed, from mapping out characters, to pitching plots and stories, to figuring out themes and arcs for the series. With an experienced instructor and the help of your fellow writers, you will generate content which you are able to produce yourself.

A Teacher with Real Experience

Karin Partin Wells knows Web Series as she herself has done extensive work in the format. She is currently in production on her comedy High Mom. In July, Karin was announced as a finalist in the Sundance | YouTube New Voices Lab, which brings together a selection of 10 applicants to develop their Web Series with the help and support of the Sundance Institute.

Her screenplay, Still Perfect, is in development with Film 180; her animated TV pilot Sun City Taxi is also currently in production.

Through lecturing, workshopping, and one-on-one mentorship, you’ll gain insight from an experienced professional.

A Class You Can Take Anywhere

A Web Series Class that you can take anywhere! Classes will be conducted in a virtual writers room, so you can take the class from the library, the local coffee shop, or even the convenience of your own home! Just like being in the classroom, with the ability to attend anywhere!
